Dr. Alexandra Lopez Vera is an Assistant Professor of Medical Education and the Director of the Vida — Medical Spanish program at the California University of Science and Medicine. In this role, she has developed a comprehensive medical Spanish curriculum that equips future physicians with the language skills and cultural competence needed to provide effective, patient-centered care for Spanish-speaking communities. Dr. Lopez Vera holds a Ph.D. in Hispanic Languages with an emphasis on Applied Linguistics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Master of Public Health from Claremont Graduate University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree at Claremont Graduate University. Her work focuses on improving healthcare outcomes for underserved populations through health advocacy, with a strong emphasis on enhancing linguistic and racial concordance.
